NEW SYSTEM TO OUR NETWORK CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTUCTION. MORE INFORMATION BELOW!

CSRAGMRS has made a decision to add a new system to our network under our current membership plans. It will be called the Private Mobile Radio Service, PMRS for short. We have been granted a license by the FCC for this new system, and it will operate on the UHF band very close to the GMRS frequencies. This new system will be active at all of our sites for members only. Our PMRS as well as our GMRS systems do require membership.

So, what will make this new PMRS system great for our members you ask? This system will allow us to link the repeaters audio and then allow the audio to be repeated at all of the sites at the same time. That’s right talk from any one of the PMRS coverage areas and your audio is relayed to all active PMRS repeaters at the same time as well. This feature will allow our members greater range and communication capabilities. The best thing about this system as well is that NO LICENSE will be required to operate on the PMRS system. You read that right NO LICENSE required by you to use the PMRS system because we own the license to the system and by being a member of CSRAGMRS you will be granted use of the PMRS network. Our goal is to have all four of our sites in Augusta, Columbia, Gilbert and Bowman active under the PMRS network. Check out our PMRS Activation Schedule below for current updates. Yes, we will be still offering GMRS repeaters but will be at select sites only.

*Sorry for the delay but we are still waiting for the antenna to be installed at the Augusta location. As soon as we can get the installation date from the tower company, we will update the online status timeline.

Our repeater network consists of repeaters located in Georgia and South Carolina and as a member you will have full access to all sites. We do charge yearly membership fees which we consider as a donation/contribution to help offset our cost for equipment purchases, maintenance and site location expenses. GMRS also has a lot of benefits to offer its user as another source of communication as well. There are many GMRS systems throughout the US and yes, a license is required and very easy to get. No test is required, and your family is covered under one license.
